Since 1963, every inhabitant in Switzerland has been provided with a shelter in the event of a disaster. A ventilation system is provided so that people can breathe in the shelter even if the ambient air is contaminated. The ventilation unit draws in the outside air through gas filters and passes it through HEPA and activated carbon filters. The air is then purified and distributed in the shelter. There is an overpressure in the shelter to prevent outside air from entering.  

Lunor ventilation systems are tested by the Federal Office for Civil Protection in the Spiez laboratory and have valid BZS approval. All components of the ventilation system are produced by Lunor in Switzerland, and the ventilation system consists of a fan (VA, ventilation unit), which draws in outside air via the explosion protection valve with pra e-filter (ESV-VF). If the breathing air is contaminated, the NBC filter can be switched on in a few simple steps. You can regulate the required air volume using the airflow meter.

The VA-40/75/150 series shelter ventilation systems protect people and equipment in emergency situations. These systems were originally developed to protect against the effects of weapons, such as air blasts, shock waves, seismic tremors, debris, etc., and to purify chemically, biologically, or radioactively contaminated outdoor air. They provide clean air in private and public shelters, defense infrastructures for military and civilian purposes, civil defense facilities, command posts, aid stations, cultural property shelters, etc. and are often an integral part of protective industrial structures of all kinds.

To date, Lunor has created ventilation and filtration systems for more than 2 million shelters. These systems are manufactured in Zurich and set global standards.
